You won't get to see A-Rod and Varitek go off like this unless you hit up a local bar

Scuffy Duffy's
Hey, you, Port Authority commuter: Don't be afraid to miss any of the game! Scruffy Duffy’s, located four blocks up from the bus station, offers up a solid selection of beers and bar food; coupled with the nice big-screen TV, it makes for a solid three-hour pitstop after work. Better than that: When Hideki Matsui hits a homer, a round of shots is on the house, and the place will roar “Matt Suey!!!” (743 Eighth Ave., 212-245-9126)
Stan’s Sports Bar
Yes, the games are in Boston, but if you're looking for ballpark atmosphere, this is the place. Stan’s is directly across the street from the entrance to the Yankee Stadium bleachers, and is still sure to be full of racuous fans, local game or not. (836 River St. at 158th St., 718-993-5548)
Mickey Mantle’s
Is a straight up sports bar a little too daunting for you? Do you wish to enjoy the game surrounded by memories of eras past? Are you old, cranky and very, very rich? Go to Mickey Mantle’s! You’ll be able to watch the Yanks/Sox from the nostalgic and upscale confines of the late Yankee’s upscale steakhouse, far away from the rest of us drunken mooks. (42 Central Park South, 212-688-7777)
Nice Guy Eddie's
Nice Guy Eddie's doesn't have the best food, beers, TVs or (honestly) smell. What it does have to offer is mediocre variations on all of those necessities...for dirt-cheap prices. In the EV/LES area, it edges out 7B because it has food and is closer to a subway, and it edges out Croxley’s because it serves pitchers of beers we’ve actually heard of (who wants to watch a ballgame at a place that thinks it is too good to serve Budweiser?). Happy hour will net you two-for-one pitchers, so drink up, Yankee fan, this Bud’s for you! (5 Ave. A, 212-253-1666)
And for Red Sox fans, mostly so they have a place to go that is not next to me at the bar:
The Hairy Monk
This is a Red Sox bar (and on Sundays in the fall, a Patriots bar.) If you are a fan of the Sox, go here for the game. Please. You'll get eight flat screens, a 6’ x 4’ projector, and plenty of beer and chicken wings. It's the best place to enjoy blowing a 7.5 game lead. (337 Third Ave., 212-532-2929)
