Paintings and pitchers
Get your aesthetic fix and your drink on at GalleryBar (Credit: gallerybarnyc.com )
If you’re looking to spend the day gallery hopping, don’t be surprised if the only hanging art you see is a "CLOSED" sign. It's summer, people: the time of year when the art world is busy sipping mojitos poolside in the Hamptons. Instead, get your aesthetic fix at these spots—not only are they open late but you can booze while you browse. Did we mention they’re all bars?

GalleryBar
Gallery by day, bar by night, this bi-level Lower East Side space has art that even runneth over into drinks, with cocktails such as the Gallerybuzz (Grey Goose, GalleryBar energy drink and bitters, $12). Granted, you’ll need to be a little more “art dealer” and a little less “starving artist” to afford this concoction.

Patio Lounge
With drinks like the Dirty Hoe (raspberry Lambic and Hoegaarden white ale, $6), a spacious, graveled backyard, a fish tank and cool green walls, this tranquil Park Slope oasis will be showcasing Brooklyn-based artist Casey Leigh Carty’s drawings and paintings until the end of the month.

Fuse Gallery at Lit Lounge
If shows like "Destroy Television" appeal to you, then Fuse Gallery is your spot. Operated in conjunction with Lit Lounge, this art space mitigates the guilt of downing one too many with a jam-packed calendar of cultural events. Swing by its new exhibit “Revelation,” a group show about what curator Erik Foss calls “the darkest story in God’s creation,” the New Testament. The show runs from July 21 to August 11.

Kanvas
With happy hour deals like half-priced martinis and $20 mojito pitchers, as well as a downstairs lounge named “iKandy” (seriously), it’s not shocking that this attractive Chelsea space fills up fast with a typical drink-swilling, shot-taking afterwork crowd. True to its name though, Kanvas does feature a roster of local artists. This month, browse the art of Gary Jameson.

Dr.Sketchy’s Anti Art School at The Lucky Cat
Tired of the same boring sketch classes? Want to draw burlesque stars and circus freaks while chugging a beer? Then sign up for Dr. Sketchy’s Anti Art School, a bi-monthly drawing event held at the Lucky Cat. This Saturday, the theme is “Weimar Berlin” with burlesque hosts Amber Ray and Gal Friday.

Pie by the Pound
If a pizza-beer-art combo sounds good to you, head over to Union Square’s Pie by the Pound, a pizza joint that hawks by the pound and not the slice. Soak up the local art bedecking this mod space during the daily happy hour (5 p.m. to 8 p.m.) with $1 PBRs, $2 domestics and $3 Heinekens and Amstels.

Stay tuned for: Cultural Cocktails (museums and booze? Even better.)
