Yet another new spot claiming as their own the ability to reinvent NYC nightlife, to offer something so different, so exclusive, so edgy that waving your money around to buy bottles does no good—you have to be selected in order to have that privilege bestowed upon you. Seriously.You have to be cool enough to be allowed to spend your own money here. Brought to us by Richie Akiva and Scott Sartiano (the boys behind Butter), even the name is mildly bombastic, as it’s an acronym for ‘one of a kind.’ If you manage to get past the air-tight door policy, expect an expansive space with oak ceilings, Louis the XIV-inspired chairs, gold curtains, ostrich-leather banquettes and artwork alluding to bestiality.
