Taking a cue from clubby Bowlmor Lanes, AMF Chelsea Piers first underwent renovations to become "300 New York"—a sleeker, sexier version of its former (kind of blah) self—adding mood lighting during "Xtreme Bowling" sessions, plasma screens, billiards tables and a 21-and-over cap after 9 p.m. However, in the next phase of its evolution, a video arcade room (called “Game On”) has been added, packed with more than 30 of the most popular games. Though it still caters largely to families, it gives gamers a chance to play while keeping it downtown—and with an extensive drink menu, it makes for a popular spot with singles seeking an alternative night out.
