So, what's with all the hurricane bars these days? First, the city saw the opening of Ninth Ward, then The Hurricane Club's tiki drinks came blowing into town, and now this joint is going all stormy over on Avenue B. Even though it's named after inclement weather, Billy's is actually Mardi Gras–themed. And how do they encapsulate that theme? With tons of alcohol, naturally. The bar dishes out gigantic scorpion bowls, growlers of beer to go, and they even have a happy-hour wheel that will score you some sweet drink specials (provided you're into that sort of thing). If you're hungry, the menu of bar grub is spiked with some Big Easy favorites—think chicken po'boys and an andouille burger. When you're not drinking or eating here, you're likely watching the game. Plenty of TVs line the room, but don't dare root for anyone other than The Saints. If you're looking for something a little more subdued, check our the beer and bourbon bar Idle Hands, which is located in this spot's basement.
