The focus at Botanica, an airy corner spot in Red Hook that has nothing to do with the beloved dive on Houston, is on the cocktails, made from seasonal fruits and specialty liquors. Hemingway might recognize their Death in the Afternoon, a $12 champagne and absinthe concoction, but he probably wouldn't recognize the prices, the attached performance space, Ikea or possibly any of Red Hook. But Hemingway is dead, so that doesn't matter. Also they serve food.
