Taking its moniker from a list of old Manhattan phone codes (Butterfield was the neighborhood code until the 1960s), and the Elizabeth Taylor's film movie of the same name, this midtown bistro offers a fully stocked bar, nine flat screens and a private room. Housed in a 100-year-old, 3,000-square-foot space, the design manages to evoke a nostalgic turn-of-the-century feel, and the prominent chandeliers create a warm, semi-upscale setting. Focusing on cocktails and comfort food, try the signature cheese steak sandwich made with prime rib, crispy onions and jalapeno cheese sauce.
