Carlow East

Carlow East looks like a place that was designed to attract the upscale clientele of the Upper East Side, with its classic old wood bar and a solid selection of liquors on glass shelves in front of the three mirrors located behind it. It is also decidedly cleaner than most bars, but that may have something to do with the sparse crowd and funeral-like atmosphere. A few grizzled locals sit at the bar saying nothing because there is a beer bottle in their mouths. The only sound you hear is from the three plasma televisions in the back and one up front. $3 Sam Adams, however, isn't a bad deal.
