Coal Yard Bar
If you know anything about the East Village's International Bar, you know what to expect when you hear this place is operated by the same owners. Coal Yard is a dive, through and through, but that's why the drinkers who come here to pound ‘em back love it. The vibe is welcoming—a large window up front provides some light in the space, and a variety of deal-seekers head by for the mucho cheap $4 well drinks, with similarly low-cost options on beer. The space is larger than some of the other watering holes in the neighborhood, but don't expect anything fancy in the décor department. Even if they even had a decorator (doubtful), that decorator really likes old beer signs, because that's about all that's on the wall. Coal keeps it real with the jukebox, favoring punk and rock classics that are perfect for fueling your bender.
