- Price range: $$ ($9-$15)
A popular platform for up-and-coming bands and the choppy-haired hipsters that love them, this former piano store has remained one of the Lower East Side's most treasured (and most consistent) venues. Spanning three floors with two stages and a changing roster of DJs, this joint is always jumping. Surprisingly, the menu is as much of a hit as the live acts, with a good selection of tasty salads, burgers, pastas and seafood.

Great place for small bands to play or for their fans to see their favorite bands before they start playing the Bowery. The bar area can get packed...
