The Royale is at once a slightly classier joint than other spots in its immediate neighbohood, yet at the same time, it is much more of a dive. The backroom has velvet-draped couches and plush style, yet, the front bar is unmistakably dressed down, and one can only imagine that with the lights on to full power, the whole place probably looks pretty dingy. That being said, it is a great, dark watering hole, with a hip crowd and excellent drink specials. If you're feeling frisky, go for the Sporting Life, five dollars will get you a Miller High Life served in a champagne flute, with an airplane bottle of Wild Turkey 101 on the side. Classy and delicious!
