Although it may have a more official name in the coming months, the new beer garden at the Standard Hotel is currently known as... the Standard Beer Garden. It's tucked into an airy and plant-speckled space under the High Line, with dozens of picnic tables and pastel-green bar chairs making room for hundreds. On the booze and games menu are beer and a ping-pong table, with brew-friendly food (sausages) coming in the near future. Come late September '09, look for expanded hours and an expanded menu.
