Because there are just too many kinds of bars to choose from—we have just as many places in our hearts for dives as we do lounges—we thought we'd narrow this category down to just bars that excel at making cocktails. Good, strong, consistently terrific cocktails, served in beautifully designed spaces by above-average bartenders. Bartenders who've even won big-time awards! Places we'd never, ever refuse an invitation to. Places we'd take anyone to. And do, regularly. If you think we left out a deserving nominee, let us hear about it!
