If you’re looking to knock back a few Bud Lights, you might want to keep walking because this Williamsburg spot is all about the rare, obscure brews. Loosely translating to ''spitting devil'' in Dutch, Spuyten Duyvil stocks a hefty array of unusual international beer—from the six rotating taps and cask-pulled ales, to the 100 or so bottles spanning 14 countries (Sri Lanka, anyone?) The vibe is low-maintenance—think lots of rustic wood, a mishmash of vintage knickknacks (several for sale), an outdoor beer garden, and an educated staff more than willing to share their broad beer knowledge with the inquisitive. If your palate is of a more refined variety, an impressive (and reasonably priced) selection of wine is on hand, as is a smattering of simple snacks like meat and cheese plates and spicy olives.
