Smoking is out in NYC, but Merchants is still aflame—at least for cigar folks. The decor is what you'd expect of a joint that encourages cigar-smoking: a large "living room" space with comfy chairs, jazz, paltry lighting and two fireplaces, with plenty of wine, cognacs, ports and sherries are served and juicy steak, chicken and seafood dishes are eaten.
