Yet another dramatic addition to New York nightlife that seems to be basing its concept on exclusivity, Kiss & Fly—located in the former Aer space—isn’t only “selective,” but sets a new standard in showy nightspots designed to appeal to the ‘new New Yorker.'
The space has been completely redone, with the subtly '80s leitmotif of Aer being replaced with a theme that appears to be Roman excess (think Vegas’ Bellagio as inspiration). Columns, arches, a fresco-like mural painted on the ceiling—it’s all there. Not to mention the 750 hidden LED lights that form a light show, as well as flame throwers, dancers on stilts and cool air being pumped in through a nitrous tank (it is Vegas!). Guests can expect nearly 30 VIP tables, some of which come equipped with a petite dance floor just big enough for two (awkward!). And then there’s “The Temple,” the granddaddy of VIP areas, compete with a gazebo, candles, thrones and a swing.
