Milk & Honey | Death in the Afternoon
Credit:Melissa Hom
This simple combination—champagne and absinthe—is not for the faint of heart; one too many of these and you'll wake up with a migraine. While Ernest Hemingway is credited with coining the drink's name and recommended "drinking three to five of these slowly" in succession, unless you're looking to get grimly hammered it's probably best to avoid this drink altogether. An instance where two rights can in fact make a wrong.
Verdict: 2 stars. This Hemingway-approved concoction is more likely to please bankers looking to get rowdy than the average absinthe consumer.
