Two hours of choreographed dances, showtune sing-alongs and games of Quarters, college-style

After last week's exploration of Smith Street on a dreary Friday night, we were looking forward to checking out the bars of Hell's Kitchen along Ninth Avenue for our third installment of Bar Shots, our new series our new photo series where we navigate an area of town and the bars (and people) that populate it.
The day's weather was perfect (70s and sunny) and Friday was just around the corner—two factors we assumed would make for a jumpin' night on the west side.Turns out, we were right—as, among other things, we encountered a choreographed hip-hop dance, a slew of leftover frat boys playing Quarters (with unappetizing consequences), and a jaunty Broadway sing-along in a gay dive. In other words, a damn good night. —Lauren Shockey
