Our first stop: Dive 75, a cozy little bar that’s less gritty than its name implies. Pairs of friends and dates clustered around high marble tables, quietly chatting and sipping—beer in a can? Indeed, in an effort to showcase the modern marvel that is canned beer, six varieties were reduced to $3 a pop during a two-hour “Be a Man, Get in the Can” promotion. We decided that when in Rome (or the Upper West), might as well drink a tin of Brooklyn Lager, which the bubbly bartender gladly cracked open for us.
