If the large gold letters on the side of the building proclaiming “The Eden of Ales” wasn’t a clue, this is a beer drinker’s bar. With plenty of dark wood, pressed tin ceilings and beer-related ephemera—a collection of beer coasters lines the walls and steins hang from a ledge around most of the bar—Mug’s almost oversells the neighborhood watering hole vibe. But in this neighborhood, Mug’s is the only place you can follow a Slyfox Weisse with a pint Legacy Hoptimus Prime, so all is forgiven.
