Michael Haar, the antique DJ, was responsible for bringing the old-timey music (tunes from 1908-38) and the old-timey music players.
This is amazing. How’d you get all this stuff?
Different antique fairs, relatives’ houses. I have an interest in early-20th-century music. This one’s a 1924 Victor Victrola, and that one’s a 1903 Edison Phonograph.
How do you travel with them?
I’ll take a car. I’ll wrap them up and just take a cab.
Not, like, a special van or anything?
Nah.
How do they work?
They’re hand-cranked.
How long does a crank last?
A full crank lasts for three songs.
Do you do other events?
Actually, I’m also a barber.
