Hecho en Dumbo | Michelada Cubana
June 3, 2009
Unfortunately, light lager beer is barely more exciting than tap water. But to remedy this poor excuse for inebriation, allow us to introduce the Michelada Cubana, a.k.a. una cerveza preparada. Served at Dumbo's high-ceilinged, super-boisterous Mexican cantina Hecho en Dumbo, the iced beet-red concoction is fashioned with light Bohemia lager, Worchester sauce, fresh-squeezed lime, savory Maggi seasoning and piquant Valentina hot sauce, then served in a salt-rimmed glass alongside a chaser of your remaining Bohemia. ($7)
Drinkability: 4 stars. Spicy and bubbly, with just a kiss of saline, the Michelada tastes like a Bloody Mary crossbred with steak sauce. In a really good way.

Micheladas are the best summer drinks and easy to make at home although the one at Hecho en Dumbo is delicious. Just the right amount of spice.
