New NYC bars and clubs

The original iteration of the beloved and decades-old bar P&G closed in January of 2009, but in May it reopened six blocks uptown in a space three times as big but just as scrappy and neighborhood-friendly—they thankfully kept the familiar neon martini glass and exterior signage. Meanwhile, the refurbished new space offers a small stage for live performances, two pool tables, a fireplace, wi-fi, chess tables, a high-def projector for movie nights, a dartboard, a happy hour and an outdoor "garden" (it's mostly concrete, but hey, it's outdoors). P&G—all spiffed up.
