Henry Public

From the people who brought you the Smith Street staple Brooklyn Social, a speakeasy before speakeasy was cliche, comes Henry Public, a pleasant, vaguely Tenement Museum-esque watering hole channeling historic Brooklyn and historic Brooklynites of the late 19th century—notably Walt Whitman. Cocktails skew old-fashioned (with Kold-Draft ice cubes), although the vibe is more tavern-like than at Brooklyn Social, with vintage art on the walls, rustic furniture and a faded-sepia color scheme. Craft ales, both local and not, are on tap, and there's a food menu as well, offering grass-fed beef burgers, oysters and other old-school comfort foods.
