Flatbush Farm | Mo' Stormy
The seasonally influenced Park Slope eatery adorned with barnyard implements and somber paintings seems like a strange fit for the festive house specialty, the Mo' Stormy. In lieu of preparing the potion, the frazzled bartender pours the pre-made concoction—a pitcher filled with muddled mint, fresh-squeezed ginger juices and limes drowned in rum—over a tall glass filled with tinkling ice cubes, then tops it with a fountain-gun blast of ginger ale. We're left lacking the mint garnish you see lovingly presented. ($9)
Verdict: 1 star. The dirty-orange drink starts with a mule kick of ginger before sugar beats its incessant bludgeon. After a few minutes, it seems like we're drinking Thai ginger candy dipped in lime juice.
