Summertime-only bars
New outdoor bars: Although it isn't new, Trout (pictured) in Cobble Hill did give us a scare by "closing" (in November, when it was cold) and "reopening" this April (when it was warm), which would be its regular schedule anyway. Oh well, we're just happy to have it back. It's been slightly refigured, with a grill and "kitchen" behind the bar itself and a rotating weekly beer menu. Gone is the wheel of death, sadly, but everything else is basically the same.
Old outdoor favorites: It does get insanely crowded, but if you can get a table and you don't mind lots of yelling, five dollars can go a long way at the scrappy Carroll Gardens favorite Gowanus Yacht Club. Fort Greene's Habana Outpost offers a vaguely eco-friendly alternative to getting smashed in the sunshine: Pedal a stationary bike to power your margarita's (or smoothie's) blender.
