McSorley's Old Ale House
- Neighborhood: East Village
- 15 E. 7th St.
- New York, NY 10003
- 212-473-9148
- Price range: $ (Under $9)
One of the oldest bars in the city (it's more than 150 years old), this East Village institution has successfully resisted the area's insidious gentrification. Aside from letting the women in about three decades ago, everything else from the sawdust floors, to the constant crowds, to the two kinds of beer (McSorley's Light and McSorley's Dark) served in pairs stays the same.
