Perched in the shadow of the Manhattan Bridge, this three-level club sometimes poses as a velvet rope scenester spot (clipboards, velvet ropes, oftentimes-exclusive roof deck parties—worth calling in a favor for). But other nights, when the Cain crowd is partying at Cain, the cramped basement hosts a local-leaning lineup of garage, punk and art-rock acts. And when the PBR flows for $3 (check the club’s website for drink specials or you might get burned), you might just forget the fashion show that is in full-swing upstairs at the tropical rooftop retreat whose potted palms and intense, vibrant lighting gives a distinct Miami vibe.
