This East Village cousin of Alligator Lounge has been doling out free personal pies to patrons for three years now and it’s still a bustling stopover for hungry folks. The bar itself—decked in a discernable reptilian theme—features kitschy croc parts dangling from the ceiling and an oceanic-looking tiled bar. Skee Ball, Whack-A-Mole and Big Buck Hunter in the back room are an enticing addition, as is the Wednesday Night Trivia, which attracts a large crowd of those looking for cerebral enhancement while killing off brain cells. When the weather’s nice, the small back patio opens up for outdoor drinking, but be warned—if you’re out there after 10, the neighbors have been known to throw buckets of ice water to quiet the loud merrymaking.
