Hog Pit

- Price range: $$ ($9-$15)
The Hog Pit, that anachronistic (see: charmingly dumpy) Meatpacking District staple, replicates itself in the Flatiron District, except Hog Pit 2.0 is prettier, shinier, bigger and cleaner than her heartily worn-in sister. Here's hoping the original Hog Pit loyals won't be too put off by the new one's gussied-up look (comparatively, anyway). Same red-blooded menu, same red-blooded (and stiff) drinks, same red walls—just much bigger and a little fancier. Open now.

Loved the food. The crab cakes are outrageous and the ribs have a new sauce that shines.
