It must have been a mad streak of inspiration that lead the owners of Brooklyn's Bar Great Harry to turn this old auto shop into a beer bar. Whatever it was, Mission Dolores will be heralded as a stroke of genius by brew lovers for generations. They've got a unique layout: A front room has a collection of seating, and the bar is in the back room. In the middle? A boozy courtyard. The outdoor space is surrounded by walls that can fold up, giving the whole space an outdoor-bar vibe on warm days. Better yet, the spot doesn't have too many neighbors, meaning those warm days can stretch into beer-soaked warm nights. They have 21 taps, which pour a selection of standards (Sixpoint) and more unique offerings (Bear Republic). If you're not into the brews, they also have a full bar. Given the space's history and industrial looking design, expect anything other than whiskey to be frowned upon.
