The fact is, they just don't make places like this anymore, especially in New York City. Opened in 1937, it appears that little has changed since then—patrons included. Expect sticky tables, dirty floors, dusty knickknacks and red leather booths held together by duct tape. Located a stone's throw from Bloomingdale's, it's of miracle proportions this definitive dive has manged to last in such prime real estate—especially considering the fact they dole out $3 beers and $4 whiskeys.
