The Commodore is kind of like Williamsburg's version of The Rusty Knot. They've got wood paneling and fake fish on the walls, a cocktail list featuring some had to find old drinks, and a bunch of hipsters slamming cheap cans of beer. Formerly Black Betty, the new space went for the 1970's rec-room feel. They also got a bartending manual from the 1970's, drinks like the Tom Collins, Old Fashioned, and perfect Manhattan are available for $6 to $7 a pop. While they don't have any pretzel dogs, they do have a cheap menu that's higher end than typical bar food, unless you can get a side of asparagus and ramps ($6) at your local pub. This is the heart of Williamsburg, so you won't be surprised to see the ironically named sandwiches. While the "hot breast" deserves a chuckle, you should probably stay away from the "adult cheese."
