What must be the saving grace for neighborhood folks looking to get a local cocktail without resorting to the NYU-laden pubs that seem to hold court, The Dove is mature and overwhelmingly comfortable. The Victorian decor features red velvet walls, white pillars and teacups filled with nuts, with specialty drinks that are equally decadent. The bar staff is as talkative as you want them to be and the prices are right-on. Ideal for a romantic tete-a-tete or good conversation with close friends.
