Zombie Hut

It's pure kitsch served with notoriously stiff, colorful drinks at this Carroll Gardens anomaly: a Polynesian-themed bar. Tiki masks adorn the straw walls in the front room, where bartenders sling $2 PBRs, pitchers of sangria and fruity cocktails (Bahama Mamas, mai tais and the huge, signature Frozen Zombie ) replete with palm-tree shaped stirrers, of course. If you can find enough room—late nights can get packed, especially with singles—spread out with a classic board game from their inventory and, on chilly nights, warm up in the sunken fireplace room. And when the warm weather hits, continue through to a surprisingly spacious outdoor patio that drives home the tiki theme.
