Geisha
Spotted: Nate and Blair having the first of many heart-to-hearts about the state of their union over sushi at Upper East Side Japanese joint, Geisha. Though this David Rockwell-designed, modernist space echoes a Geisha’s delicate nature with artfully-stenciled cherry blossoms, murals, and origami birds dangling overhead, B. was anything but conciliatory towards Nate.
If you can’t secure a reservation in one of the two upstairs dining rooms like Nate and Blair (who incidentally happen to be juniors in high school) head straight for the lounge and order an exotic cocktail, like a Geisha Blossom or Lychee Martini from the white terrazzo bar inlaid with mother of pearl. Though the bar scene here has been significantly muted since it first opened in 2004, over two dozen specialty sakes continue to draw the young and beautiful.
