Spotted:
Nate attempting to win Blair back by offering to take her to The Modern at the Museum of Modern Art—her favorite dessert spot.
Though spoken of but not shown, The Modern's airy dining room overlooks the museum's sculpture garden
and features fine French-American cuisine (all served on Bernardaud china and speared
with Robbe and Berking silverware).
Walk-ins are welcome in the adjacent bar room (pictured), separated by a wall of frosted
glass—and a discernibly upscale vibe. Settle into sleek leather banquettes and
sip from an international wine list featuring over 900 from the region of Alsace alone.
Granted, Nate offered to bring along a bottle of Laurent Perrier, but we might have suggested The Modern’s Coming
Up Roses cocktail (Bacardi Razz, rose petals, lime, rosewater and champagne)
for the brooding Blair, and Shot in the Dark (Cruzan rum, ginger beer, lemon and
Gosling’s black seal rum) for a clueless Nate.
