Opening party: Rink Bar
Opening night: Rink Bar
We swung by the season opening of Rink Bar, the summer incarnation of the world-famous ice rink at Rockefeller Center. The sprawling space directly in front of the Prometheus statue was invite-only but was a pretty spot-on indication of the bar’s standard, smartly dressed postwork summer crowd.
The liquid? Regular and flavored mojitos (watermelon, papaya), elderflower martinis, Champagne, and pitchers full of other ice-cold cocktails. The grub? Mini turkey burgers, chicken-salad-and-bacon wraps, mini quiche and sliced sashimi. The vibe? One hundred percent summer—despite the chilly, gray evening. — Perrie Samotin
