Carrie cleverly narrates that “it was a little past 10 and I was dressed to the nines at Brasserie 8 ½,” the swanky, subterranean Midtown restaurant and lounge where she and Stanford are sipping dirty martinis. There, Carrie runs into Lynn Cameron, an old friend producing a fashion show with actual models and "real' New Yorkers, and she insists that Carrie participate.

Though she eventually concedes and ends up as “fashion road kill” on the runway, at least Carrie didn’t trip and fall down the sweeping orange-carpeted spiral staircase in the center of the popular restaurant.
