Monkey Bar

Big and Carrie test drive their new relationship as “friends” at the swank, simian-themed Monkey Bar in the Hotel Elysee. Pretty much everything here is true-to-title—from the monkeys splashed across the red wallpaper to the ape-shaped light fixtures and primate-themed potables (try the Red Rhesus champagne cocktail or a Capuchin Julep).

While it might sound silly and theme-y, the place retains the sophisticated old-world charm that once lured Marlon Brando, Ava Gardner and Tallulah Bankhead. (It recently underwent renovations.) It was here that Carrie and Big remarked how people don’t dress up anymore “like with waist coats and watch fobs,” but if anyone ever did they might actually be spotted here.
