Valentine's Day cocktails

There are certain things you just can’t hide from when February 14th rolls around: Candy, hearts, candy hearts, red roses wherever you turn (aggressive street vendors, bodegas, fancy florists) and sweet, rich, sugary or very pink cocktails. We’re not sure why bars and restaurants feel the need to concoct such cloying additions to their menus, when a nice bottle of vino would work just as well, (or at least, for the traditionalist, a bottle of Rose Brut)

But, if you’re serious about something sweet this Valentine’s Day (regardless of whether you’re part of a solid liaison or single as they come), head to where the pink, red and creamy cocktails await.

At any rate, it beats the hell out of a cheap-o box of chocolates.
