Ay ay ay ay ay! A Mexican battlecry (mating cry?) party and competition
Cerveza and fiesta enthusiasts celebrated Mexican Independence Day at the Bell House last night with free chips and salsa, cheap beer and an adorable El Grito contest, organized by Nachos NY, wherein competitors took the stage to release their best "ay yay yay yay yay yay" battle/mating cry. (See here for a prime example.) Winners won a "guacamole kit," a "chos before hoes" T-shirt and a $75 gift certificate to the Bell House, respectively. But the best prize of all may have been the raffle: a Tecate cooler. Perfect for...you know, whenever.
