Spying on Dave Hill's comedy/speed-dating/music/drinking extravaganza
The rules for comedian Dave Hill's speed-dating event at Black Rabbit bar in Greenpoint were: 1) Everything has a Smiths/Morrisey theme, and 2) everyone has to switch partners at the end of each Smiths song. Lots of media/literary people were there—Gawkers and Harper Collinses, etc.—and many a love match was begun if not consummated. Per our photographer: "There was a rumor that one couple hooked up in the bathroom." We hope they fell in love!
