White Horse Tavern
Originally built in the 1800s as a bookstore and one of the only bars in New York to operate openly during Prohibition, White Horse became infamous in 1953, when it served as the spot where boozy writer Dylan Thomas knocked back 18 whiskeys before passing out and dying days later.
