The NYC travel Web site celebrated its first birthday, with so many free martinis
Jauntsetter, our favorite NYC travel site, celebrated its one-year anniversary last night with a party at Larry Lawrence, in Williamsburg, where there was a raffle of two round-trip tickets on Virgin America to anywhere in the country, as well as an open bar of Potocki vodka, filling endless martinis. So many martinis! Perhaps we should not have had so many martinis.
Also, we'd be remiss not to mention that we love Jauntsetter not only for all the free booze it feeds us (there's free champagne, beer or wine events every two months or so) but also because once a week it delivers a magically transporting e-newsletter to our inbox, with featured destinations (Tulum, Hanoi, Woodstock); descriptions of local meals, drinks and cute little bungalows you can rent; interviews with cool New Yorkers; and a round-up of cheap flights. Round-trip to Tokyo for $700? Charlotte for $9 one way? OR BOTH? But really: Jauntsetter. At the very least go see how pretty the design is.
