Luckyrice Festival Opening Party | The Bowery Hotel
Let’s just cut to it. Asian-inspired cocktails extend past the sake bomb, with mixologists dropping Eastern staples like shiso leaves, palm sugar and yuzu juice into their smashes and swizzles. We’ve been hearing about tiki taking over this town, but from the ambitious drinks served at the opening party of the Lucky Rice Asian Food Festival, held Thursday at the Bowery Hotel, we’re convinced green tea vodka and perilla mix mighty well. We caught up with many of the barmen (Momofuku, Apothéke, Prime Meats, Fatty ‘Cue), to talk Chinese vs. Korean cuisine and Japanese whisky. Plus, Kelly Choi on a drink called The Explosion.
