Five bars, five different takes on the soul-warming, cold weather favorite
With all the horrendous weather we had early this fall, apple season began a tad prematurely. Yet, that didn’t stop the mounds of Honeycrisps, McIntosh or Galas from piling up and getting turned into everything from pie, to cake, to sauce. Though these are all good ways of consuming this wonderful fruit, one of our favorite ways to indulge in apples is through cider—hard or fresh—and one way to drink cider is to spike it with booze.
But wait!—why just take hot cider and add a bit of bourbon or rum when you can transform the classic fall beverage into a unique tipple? We found five different ways bartenders are using apple cider in their cocktails this season. Surprisingly, most of them are cold, yet still end up warming you up like Saxon + Parole’s concoction, the Lower East Cider. Check out what’s in that drink and see the other stellar apple cider cocktails we found.
