Checking out a psychedelic Brooklyn-to-Chelsea art party
The Chelsea gallery Goff + Rosenthal recently organized a laid-back art party designed to bridge the gap among artists, collectors, galleries and the public: Artist Jeremy Earhart hosted dinner and drinks at his Brooklyn apartment before giving a tour of his labyrinthine Plexiglas-filled studio and demonstrating his artistic technique and signature graphics on t-shirts (provided by the guests). Afterward, the party moved to the gallery for the closing of Jeremy's solo show, The Thin Ice of Modern Life. A highlight of the night was an intimate performance by FREE TIME, featuring members of Beirut and Psychic Ills, whose eerie, psychedelic sonic landscapes blended nicely into the glowing black-light ambiance. —Tod Seelie
