"What whiskey will not cure, there is no cure for"
The 11th annual WhiskyFest hit New York City on Nov. 11, filling the lovely Marriott Marquis Hotel with 200 of the rarest, finest and most expensive whiskeys from all over the world (plus some high-end rums, tequilas and beers). With talks and mini-lessons from distillery managers, master blenders and other industry pros, it was an opportune evening to become a whiskey master. Judging from the crowd, however, most of what was learned didn't stand a chance of being remembered the next day. (Although the gourmet food spread helped a little.) Cue the bagpipes, literally. —Ron Bishow
