In its earlier days, this spot was known for the dirtiest bar fights in town. Those days are long gone, as in-the-know hipster-types and harmless old timers gather for cold beer and drink specials (PBR-and-shot deals are strong here) or lounge at the leather booths to listen to DJ-spun rock, with the occasional live act.  As the 'hood changes, bells and whistles are slowly moving into 169 (celebrities are buying apartments in the Forward Building upstairs, after all) and soon enough the only fight here will be the one to get in.
